Local scoring and settings
FoosRefAssistant helps referees manage goals, sets, possession timers and timeouts. The app does not require registration or an online user account. Team names, timer and match settings, and optional Apollo connection settings are stored on your device. These settings support the app’s scoring and timing functions. We do not automatically receive this local information. The app does not integrate advertising, tracking or analytics services.
Optional Apollo connection
If you enable the Apollo integration or request match information, the app communicates with the Apollo server address configured by you. It can retrieve team names, scores, sets, timeouts and match settings, and send scoring, set, timeout and reset commands. The receiving server also receives connection data such as the device’s IP address. This is intended for a trusted local tournament network; the app uses HTTP for these Apollo requests, so this connection is not encrypted by the app. Use an Apollo server and network you trust. The organizer operating Apollo controls further processing, including any scoreboard or livestream display. Disabling the connection does not delete data already held by that organizer. The app does not automatically send these requests to a developer-operated cloud service.
Backups and deletion
Depending on your operating system and settings, local app settings may be included in device backups or device transfers provided by Apple or Google. We do not have access to those backups. Settings remain until changed or deleted. To remove local app data on Android, clear its storage/data; on iOS, fully delete the app rather than offloading it. Delete backup copies separately if required. Restoring a backup may restore settings. Data held by an Apollo operator must be managed with that operator.
Support and privacy requests
If you email me with a support or privacy request, I, Daniel Sorger, handle and answer it myself. I process your sender address, message and any attachments you send. For the technical receipt, transmission and storage of messages, I use the email service provided by united-domains GmbH, Gautinger Straße 10, 82319 Starnberg, Germany. The provider states that mailbox data is stored in German data centres. Your chosen email providers also participate in delivery. I handle the substance of your app request myself.
Sending a message is voluntary; I cannot reply without a way to contact you. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related requests, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR for compliance with statutory data protection obligations, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for responding and troubleshooting. Send only information needed for your request and remove unnecessary information about other people from attachments. Messages are deleted when no longer needed to handle the request, unless statutory retention requirements or necessary retention for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims apply. Business and tax records subject to statutory retention are kept for the legally required period under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Your rights
Where we process personal data, you have GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, subject to applicable conditions. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Contact foosrefassistant_privacy@danielsorger.de. We cannot remotely access or delete data held only on your device or by your tournament’s Apollo operator.
Website and updates
This policy describes the app and related support requests. Visiting this page also involves connection data needed by the website host; see the separate website privacy notice. Changes to the app or its processing will be reflected in an updated policy at this address.
