This policy describes the Scoreboard Pro beta 0.1.0 with DTFB import and its optional live ticker and related email enquiries. A public store release is not confirmed. A separate website privacy notice also applies to the information pages on danielsorger.de.
Local game data
The app stores team names, colours, scores or goals, rules, game history, timers, timeouts, language and the current game locally on your device. A local journal also keeps live changes that have not yet been sent. You can export and delete local archives. These data support scoring, display, resuming a game and, where you start a broadcast, safely retrying its transmission. Use nicknames for other people where possible.
Scoring without the live ticker needs no registration or internet connection. The reviewed app code contains no advertising, tracking, analytics or integrated crash reporting. Normal local scoring alone does not send game data to my server.
Optional DTFB import
When you load matches or update a lineup, the app requests public SportsManager data directly from dtfb.de over HTTPS. DTFB receives the requested team, competition and match identifiers, your IP address and technical request information, including the app’s user agent. No DTFB account or login is used, and the app does not send your locally recorded scores back to DTFB. Processing of requests by DTFB is subject to its own privacy information.
The selected match identifiers and source URL, teams, squad and player names, lineups, competition, round, date, venue and table information are saved locally where available. They support match selection and pairing display. No DTFB request is required for ordinary local scoring. Imported names and lineups may also appear in local journals, archives, exports and device backups.
Optional live ticker and recipients
The live ticker requires an explicit pairing of an authorized device and a broadcast that you start. The server stores a chosen device name, random device identifier, role and validity period, and a cryptographic hash of the device access credential. The credential itself is held in the device's protected storage. For a broadcast, the app sends the game state, including team names, colours, results, rules, game history, timers, timeouts and available player names and lineups, plus random match and event identifiers to scoreboard-pro.danielsorger.de. Pending changes are queued locally and retried when a connection returns. Another authorized team device can take over control.
The server is hosted on Akamai Cloud/Linode in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The provider is Akamai Technologies International AG, Grafenauweg 8, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. Akamai and its subprocessors may process connection data and stored content to provide and secure the infrastructure. Switzerland has an EU adequacy decision; further international processing and safeguards are described in the website privacy notice. The app and server use HTTPS. The live service and web server do not keep their own access logs under the reviewed configuration; connection data such as IP addresses are temporarily processed to deliver connections and limit requests. This does not exclude processing by the hosting infrastructure.
Public spectator link
Anyone who receives the random spectator link or QR code can see confirmed scores, team names, results, game history, timers, timeouts and available player names and full lineups without signing in. The app does not send the link to a fixed recipient; you choose whom to share it with. Avoid names or details about others that should not be public. An ended game remains available at the same link and can be resumed until it is deleted from the server. Viewers connect to the live host; the viewer stores its language choice locally in the browser. It sets no analytics cookies.
Legal bases
Where entries contain personal data, local processing and a broadcast you request provide the app functions (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Processing connection data, credential hashes and security events as technically necessary relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in a secure and reliable service. You choose whether to start the optional live ticker and share its spectator link. Share personal details about other people through that link only with their agreement.
Storage, backups and deletion
Local app data remain until you change or delete them. “Restart game” resets the current game; “Default settings” also replaces teams and rules. You can delete individual local archives in the app. On Android, remove all local app data with the system's Clear storage/data control; on iOS and iPadOS, delete the app fully rather than offloading it. Device backups or transfers through Apple or Google may contain app data; Android backups are allowed. I cannot access those device backups. Manage them separately with the provider if needed.
On the live server, game states and events remain after a broadcast ends until an authorized owner explicitly deletes the ended game or the service is removed. There is currently no fixed automatic deletion period for games. Confirmed server deletion removes the game state, events and handoff data from the active database and makes the spectator link unavailable. A hash of the random match identifier remains, without a person or game data attached, to reject delayed retries. Device and authorization records may remain in the server database after expiry or revocation; no general automatic deletion period is configured for them. Daily local server backups are limited to seven copies, and additional deployment rollback files expire after seven days. Manually created copies outside that cycle must be managed separately; immediate deletion from every copy is not promised. Deleting a local archive, resetting the app or removing it does not delete a server copy.
“Remove match” clears the encounter link, squad lists and lineups from the current local game; team names, scores and rules remain. It does not erase earlier archives, exports, backups or server events. During an active broadcast, changes to the current game are synchronized; removing the local match is not the same as deleting the server game.
